Through our COYOTE® fiber optics brand, PLP offers an industry-leading line of outside plant closures for trunk, feeder, distribution, drop, and entrance applications which are compatible with loose tube, micro tube, tight-buffer, drop, buffered ribbon, uni-tube ribbon, ADSS, OPGW, and blown ribbon fiber optic cables.
All of PLP’s outside plant closures are designed, engineered, and tested in accordance with the Telcordia® GR-771-CORE Generic Requirements for Fiber Splice Closures, providing the highest level of protection for your network.
The COYOTE 6″ Pedestal provides easy customization options to adapt to your fiber or copper splicing needs at each location in your network. Each pedestal is pre-assembled and can be configured to accept various fiber optic splice tray types, fiber or copper terminals, fiber cross-connect bulkheads, or management brackets for copper splices. In addition, the organizer can be removed and a slotted metal back plane can be inserted into the base to attach fiber closures and cabinets to provide additional protection for your splices. The versatility of the COYOTE Pedestal allows you to create the network you desire.
The COYOTE Splice Case combines the field-proven performance of the PREFORMED™ Splice Case (stainless steel) with the high capacity and craft-friendly COYOTE Fiber Management System to create a feature-packed splice case for demanding applications.
For over 30 years, our Stainless Steel Splice Case has been the industry standard, with millions of successful applications around the world, protecting communications cables under even the most severe conditions. This is our premium series for the most demanding applications.
These products provide long-term protection for direct buried cable splices (individual or modular connection). The sealant forms a barrier to protect splices against the harsh elements of nature.
The Coax Drop Wire Closure is designed for direct buried splicing of coax cable and is an excellent solution for coax cable repairs. It is available in two sizes and holds a variety of standard coax connectors and couplers. POLY-BEE Sealant is used in the closure for maximum environmental protection.
The MULTI-BOND Shield Connector offers a reliable bonding harness for organizing telecommunications buried service wires and achieving an electrical bond between the cables and ground.
The Pair Protector is a plastic shim that is inserted between the cable shield and the core wrap prior to bonding or tabbing. It allows easy insertion of the bottom shoe of most common shield connectors, and eliminates the danger of cut pairs while cutting tabs in the cable sheath.
The Ballistic Protection provides added protection for PLP splice enclosures that are mounted vertically on a structure. It consists of a mounting frame and two large doors that surround the splice enclosure. The factory-assembled mounting frame has two vertical brackets, two hinge brackets, and an adjustable bracket for mounting splice enclosures within the Defender.
The storage system consists of crossarms that are attached to a central vertical bracket that can be bolted or banded to a structure. The crossarm’s metal keepers maintain the proper bend radius for the slack cable. Cable straps (not provided) can be used to neatly group cable loops and secure them to keepers if desired.
They are designed to be applied without any special tools, and because False Dead-Ends are made from the same material as the strand, they will hold the same published rated breaking strength.
They are designed to gently, but firmly, support ADSS cable. It is intended for tangent support installations on lines that feature relatively low voltages, short spans, and modest mechanical loads.
PREFORMED Communications Spacers provide an inexpensive way of eliminating mid-span hits on open wire. Spacers keep open wires in their place and prevent lines from “going dead” and momentary shorts and crosses.
